Jim and Laura Melvin’s lives are both deeply rooted in furniture and logistics.
Laura Melvin interned for a world renowned furniture company in college where she learned the ins and outs of design and ordering FF&E. This internship paired with her fathers devotion to furniture design fostered a deep love for the furniture industry. In the early 2000’s, Laura created Careful With The China as a full-service pack and move company. Still working in the furniture industry but helping seniors and families have a seamless moving process.
Jim grew up learning from his dad, who made big strides in development and expansion within the Triad. After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill, Jim began a career in politics in the D.C. area. Following his time in politics, he transitioned to the construction world. With a focus on business development, logistics, and estimating, Jim excelled. Jim went on to spend 20 years in the construction world, growing and improving business from an operations level. Jim brought with him the knowledge and logistical skills we needed to begin offering moving and delivery to our clients directly from us.
